Hanoi get more luxury hotel "Five-star hotel opens in Hanoi"
The luxury five-star hotel is located over the waters of Hanoi’s West Lake in vietnam and boasts 360 guestrooms and 19 suites. It has a total investment capital of US$123mil, according to Jon Nielsen, the property’s general director.
The hotel is owned by TPC Nghi Tam Village, a joint venture between Tradewinds Corporation Berhad, one of Malaysia’s largest hotel owners, and Thang Long Tourism and General Trading Company. It is managed by the UK’s InterContinental Hotels Group.
"We hope the hotel will give local and foreign visitors an excellent impression of the capital city and make an overall positive contribution to national tourism," said Jon.
"While the number of international visitors is increasing rapidly, Hanoi now has only eight five-star hotels," he said. "We expect that the opening of InterContinental will help ease the problem of hotel space shortage in the city."
InterContinental Hotels Group now operates in nearly 100 countries and territories with around 3,800 hotels and 563,000 guest rooms, according to Jon.
Vietnam last Thursday clocked in its 4 millionth international visitor of this year, the biggest number in a single year recorded so far. CB Richard Ellis Viet Nam Company expects the number to reach 10mil in 2010.
